When is the visitor contribution due?
On arrival — we collect it directly at check-in. You receive your guest card immediately.
Is the card valid for the entire stay?
Yes, for every day of your stay. You can use the HATIX ticket daily for bus and train across the Harz.
What is the HATIX ticket?
The HATIX ticket entitles you to free use of local public transport (bus and train) throughout the Upper Harz — for every day of your stay.
Are children exempt from the contribution?
Children up to and including 5 years of age pay no visitor contribution. From their 6th birthday, the children's/youth rate applies (1,65 €/night). In addition, the 3rd and every further chargeable child of a family is exempt.
Who else is exempt?
People staying in the levy area exclusively for work or vocational training are exempt on application (without a guest card being issued). Conference attendees can submit an application to the spa operating company „Die Oberharzer“ mbH.
Is the Harz Guest Card valid in other towns too?
Yes — around 50 Harz towns take part in the Harz Guest Card programme and offer free or discounted benefits. You can obtain the full overview of benefits from us at reception.
